Life I find turning 50 very liberating. I bought my last bottle of hair dye just before my birthday, and it's the first time I've seen my real hair color since I was 16. I sold my condo in the foothills and bought a retro house with character in town that is one mile from work, and I am thrilled to have a decent garden for the first time since I left Santa Cruz. I've been a vegetarian since 1996--I don't force my beliefs on anyone, but I will tell you it's a wonderful feeling to honor other living beings. The typing class I took in high school served me well--I've been able to support myself through the years and have morphed into a bit of a computer geek.
