Linda Hancher:  

Born in Princeton, New Jersey, I grew up in St. James and Setauket, New York. I married Michael Hancher, a professor of English at the University of MN (retir3d in 2022). After graduating from ELVHS, I attended Douglass College, Rutgers University, and Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, where I received my MAT, taught junior high school English, and met Michael, who was my advisor. We moved to Minneapolis in 1972, where I did post-graduate work in Special Education I worked for Minneapolis Public Schools Hospital/Agency Program as teacher and program coordinator for 37 years, providing educational services to children and teens in hospitals and treatment programs in Minneapolis. We have one son, Matthew, a computer science/electrical engineer, who attended MIT and now lives in San Francisco and is the lead engineer for Google Earth. He was married in April 2014 to Cary Ann Rosko, a psychotherapist who also sings with several Bay Area opera companies. Linda retired in June 2010, and now enjoys reading, gardening, quilting, hiking and traveling. I still haven't decided what I want to be when I grow up.
