Life
Life is good...:) Growing up all over the world; making friends, learning about new cultures...who could ask for more?? Two marriages and two sons (from the first marriage)and now two granddaughters. Texas will always be home for me!
School
High school was interesting..lol Nurnberg HS for my sophomore year, first in a dorm and then commuting on the train back and forth to Amberg and Vilseck. Then my dad retired in 68 and we moved back to Killeen where I graduated out of my junior year and went straight to CTC. My history teacher, Mrs. Little, was my inspiration..what a great teacher she was..:)
College
I went to CTC straight from KHS..planning to get a teaching degree. I married (military)and moved all over the world. Upon divorcing I returned to Killeen to finish my education in nursing; worked several years at Kings'Daughter in Temple and then went to ATU for Social Work; graduated early and worked fo...Expand for more
r American Red Cross while I finished a Masters in Counseling/Psychology. I can't thank Dr Schilhab enough; she was my mentor and inspiration!!!
Workplace
After working at Kings' Daughters Hospital in Temple, I went back to ATU and got a degree in Social Work, from a internship at American Red Cross I became a Assistant Station Manager while I obtained my Masters in night classes (while still residing in Married Student Housing at ATU). Upon graduation I did some teaching in the area and then married my second husband and moved to PA. I worked as a casemanager in the MR system and then as a Program Director for United Cerebral Palsy in Hazleton; taking the CEO position in Wilkes-Barre the following year. I have 15 years in my current position. I am a hands-on administrator. We provide services to adults with mental retardation and/or physical disabilities. I love what I do; but look forward to retiring someday.
