Linda's Story
After high school, I went to WWU where I earned my Music Education degree in 1980 and my Master's of Music in 1986. I have taught for the Bellingham Public Schools for 35 years, with 29 years at Bellingham High School. I love teaching at our old Alma Mater and I am currently the teacher who has been at Bellingham High School the longest.
I got divorced in 2001 after 19 years in a difficult marriage, but was separated in 2000 just when I moved back to the renovated BHS. I have raised 2 wonderful sons who are now 27 and 30. My 30 year old son is married and lives and works in San Jose. My 27 year old son lives and works in Bellingham. I love learning new things and like to ask questions. our life experiences I have learned a lot over the years. I sometimes wish more people were interested in what I have learned. ð
I can say the students who are graduating today have a lot more knowledge and skills than I had when I graduated from high school. I am very proud of my student's work ethic, music and life skills, although I am surprised at some of the things they don't know that seemed so important when we grew up. They just look it up on the internet though so all is good.
Overall, life is great. I have a great church, good loyal friends, interesting hobbies, a job I love, extended family in Whatcom County, and three close family with my very loving, caring, and wonderful sons and daughter-in-law.
