Linda's Story
Attended TVCC. Graduated 1968. Worked as Dental assistance until marriage in
December 1968. Moved to Corvallis, Ore.. Husband attended O.S.U I continued working as dental assistant for the next 12 years. Moved to Burns, Ore 1972 for husband's work at O.S. U. experiment station. 1979 moved to Redmond, Ore. and started janitorial business. I HATE cleaning toilets!!! We did commercial accounts, banks, real estate offices, and the worst was lumber mill offices, lunchrooms, and restrooms Sold the business in 1989 and I started working for a real estate company as secretary. That lasted 1 1/2 years. Dental world had changed greatly and I would have had to go back to school and catch up. Didn't care for that idea. Husband's work as a purchasing agent was paying well, so I retired in 1990, as if a wife can ever retir...Expand for more
e! In 1990, we sold our house in town and purchased 5 acres of rock, sage brush and juniper trees. We put a double-wide manufactured home on it and have been improving the place and living there for the past 25 years. I enjoy ballroom dancing and now have time to ride my horse more. I like to TRY to garden but seem to have a semi black thumb or maybe it is just our poor soil. I would like to think that anyway. I used to enjoy oil painting, but don't have a separate space to do so that won't end up with pet hair all over the work. My father passed away of heart disease in January 1991, Mother in March of 2009 from a stroke and I lost my sister, Pat, in October 2009 of pancreatic cancer. That pretty much brings you up to date. I will add more as time goes on and important events happen.
