Linda's Story
I have had an interesting life. I have lived in Old Mexico for 2 years, Tulsa, Oklahoma for 4yrs, Louisiana for 3 yrs, Wisconsin for 4 years and Omaha all the rest of the time. I can¿t say that I loved one place better than another, because they all have their pluses and minuses, but I must say it is good being around my grandchildren in Omaha! They light up my life.
I am single, hence the maiden name. I¿ve worked full time at Brownell-Talbot Preparatory School for the past almost 4 years. I am also a spa coordinator at Omaha Life Spa in tLife Time Fitness. So I stay busy.
I am still involved with singing. I have sung the National Anthem for the Royals, the Knights, the Mavs, the Beef, the Golden Globes, the Crusaders (our school), and for special events. I am on sabbatical from the Omaha Symphonic Chorus. I had a major vocal cord problem this past winter that caused me to be without a voice for 2 months! Some may say that was a good thing (no voice...can't talk), but I was a bit concerned. It¿s been a long road of recovery but I¿m getting there.
I am still around the theater as well. I am involved at Brownell helping with the productions. I help with auditions, vocalists, makeup, hair, staging, just all around helping the producer and director with anything they need. I love it. It¿s so much fun!
My latest adventure will be heading to Ind...Expand for more
ia on a mission trip in November that I am really excited about. I will be ministering to women and children of the streets in the Calcutta (which is now called Kolkata) area. I can¿t wait to go! This past summer I took a solo road trip to the far south/west corner of Colorado (Cortez, Co to visit my Aunt and cousins) then headed to Colorado Springs, then the Loveland area and a thousand miles later, back to Omaha. It was an awesome trip being in those gorgeous mountains!!! Who says there isn¿t a God when you get in those things!
To recap, I have two kids; Tonna married to Nate Heinemann, with 3 children (the love of my life), Keirstyn, 14, Ethan, 5 and Weston, 3, who live in Omaha and Adam, who just got married to Connie Choi in April of this year. They had a location wedding so being the good mother that I am I scarified myself by going to Cancun for the wedding! It was beautiful! We didn¿t want to come home. They live in Los Angeles. I miss them terribly but we talk and email all the time. I have a son-in-law and a daughter-in-law who I adore. I am so proud of my children and their spouses. I am blessed, truly blessed.
And for those who are curious, my brother Don, class of 67, lives in Tampa, has 2 daughters (one married) who live in Florida as well. If you want to know more about him, I can get you hooked up with him. Just let me know!
