Linda's Story

I do not care how I was remembered. I am great full that I was remembered. By being remembered, it only proves that I made a impression in their lives. Good, bad, or indifferent I did touch the lives of those remembering me. I always wanted to be a Law Enforcement Officer when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a Good idea. As it turns out, they were supportive of all the choices I made.. I like to spend time with my friends. The let me vent when necessary. We go to lunch once a month on our RDO. Everyone once in a while we let our spouses tag a long. I like to ch lax. Chill and relax at the same time. In high school I was never a risk taker. I always played it safe. I obeyed all the rules, I did my home work, never smoked, drank or did any kids of drugs. I did cut class once or twice in my senior year. The first time my mom left word for me not to ride the bus home.. I never got the message and missed a dentist appointment.....I think I came out the winner. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have support, training, and respect to be able to deal with the day-to-day. I have a different perspective on what a hero is. I think a hero is a person that gives of them self so that those less fortunate can have a better advantage in life. I was born in West Newton Massachusetts. I lived there until I was about 3 years old. I then moved to Santa Fe New Mexico. I do not know how long I lived there. I do not remember any of it. Next I moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. The only thing I remember about this place is I live just off of the Santa Domingo indian reservation and that there was a big letter "E" painted on a rock on a hill just down the road from where I lived. On the other end of the street was a play ground with octagon multi-colored picnic areas. We moved to North Carolina. We were building our house in hope mills, so we had to rent a place on Birch Road for a few months. In May of 1967 we moved in too the house my parents still live in. IN 1984 I got married and movie to Fayetteville NC close to Ft. Bragg The town house life was great as a childless couple but not ...Expand for more
so fun with a baby. So back to the Hope Mills area I went in 1989. This time I live on Lake Upchurch. Uncle Sam decided I need a change of address in Oct of 1994. We uprooted the 2 boys and moved to New York, just outside of West Point Military Academy. Lived in this area until June of 1998. My daughter was born in West Point Military Academy Hospital. July 27, 1998 was the day my family arrived in Alaska. What a great place to live, work and raise a family The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Kyle Holt, because he was my BFF. Perfection. I do not like failure or set backs. I do not like to wait for things. I remember in school when on Friday the teachers announced a test for the following Friday. I hates this I was always thinking why do i have to wait until next week. just give me the test now. I know the material I can pass the test. My biggest surprise w My current age is 48. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be old and senile. I was so completely wrong.. I am a Lead Transportation Security Officer.I have been with TSA since December 2006. I think I want to join the Red Team and travel all over the USA testing security operations at all Federalized Airports. I do not know. My first crush was on Raymond Wayne Slate. He flat out told me he did not like me he liked Vivian. He asked me to leave him a lone. In our senior he wrote in my year book that he screw up back in elementary and wanted to know if it was too late for us to be friends. I never saw him or his twin brother after graduation. Does any one know where the Slate twins are. My fondest childhood memory was going to West Newton, Massachusetts and visiting my grandparents, taking the subway in to Boston to see the Red Sox play baseball. It was in Fen way Park that I first met Cal Koonce. Many years later I had Cal Koonce as a teacher in High school for 2 different years. My first job was at dressing up as Twinkie the Kid, where I got paid $3.10 to pass out samples of hostess twinkles. What I remember most about it is how much fun I had. Not to mention all the comments people would make..
