Linda's Story
Life
I retired in 2010 as an ASD Classroom Music Teacher. I no longer teach piano but do accompanying now. I also play alto recorder in a recorder consort with 7 other music teachers. We perform mostly for community and charitable events/fundraisers. Other than my college years and 4 years in LA , I've lived my life here in Anchorage. I met my husband here when he enrolled as one of my (adult) piano students. While he was employed with UNOCAL we spent 4 years in LA, where we both finished our Master's degrees. In 1980 we were transferred back to Anchorage. We have two sons, Eric (26), USNR, is finishing up his AA in Air Traffic Control at UAA and getting ready for his second deployment to the Middle East as part of a boat security detachment. Our 2nd son, Colin (23), graduated this May from Univ. ...Expand for more
of Hawaii Hilo with a BS (cum laude) in Marine Sci. He's now at Navy OCS in Newport, RI, and after commissioning will go to Pensacola for flight school. My husband is retired from a local engineering firm. We are active in Navy League chapter as well as our own personal interests. Music and related activities have always been the focus of my professional life and a big chunk of my personal life. We enjoy all kinds of music and the stage and are lucky to have many opportunites to attend many performances here and elsewhere. Before we had children, we traveled frequently to Europe where we could indulge in all kinds of cultural/historical interests. We're avid readers and enjoy staying in contact with family and the many friends we've made over the years. I continue to garden, excercise, and travel.
