Linda's Story
Life
In Dec. 1959 my family moved to Wasco.Believe me Iwas not very eager to move. We lived there when I was in the second grade. Then moved back east again. Even though I remembered some of the kids they did not remember me. Anyway went to Thomas Jefferson for two years. Half way through 8th grade we moved to Semi-Tropic. There was 5 eighth graders in the school.2 boys and 3 girls. We had alot of fun that year. Then came high school. A whole new world. As I look back they were not bad years. Probably should have paid a little more attention in class.
In 1965 meet Bobby Johnson. He was drafted into the Navy, in Oct.1965. Stationed in San Diego, Calif. We were married July 3rd 1966, after graduation. After his tour of duty was up we moved to Taft,Calif. in 1967. We had two children. He was working for Getty Oil Co. when he had a wreck on his way home from work. He died seven days later. e stayed there and been okay I guess. My parents were back in Okla. so we packed up and moved.I've never looked.
I went to beauty school. Got my liences, and never used them. Went on one of those scary blind dates. Tried to back out,unsuccesfully. This turned out to be the best blind date ever.We've been married for thirty years. He was also a widower. Our family is yours mine and ours. I've been very lucky,I could not have had better step kids. They have been great kids.
I guess in some peoples eyes I've not done anything out standing.I've been a stay at home MOM.We live on a farm, where they could run and play. They now how to work also. We had a dairy farm, with Jersey cow(most beautiful of all breeds.)Then built broiler houses(raise chickens). Sold the milk cows.So now we raise broilers and beef cattle. We can relax a little more and enjoy our grandkids. Its a good life.
I'm not a writer, but hope this is an insight into my life.
