Linda Hall's Story
I met the love of my life in 1979, married in 1980, had a son in 1985, and another in 1987. I had been a math teacher from 1979-1985 and then was a stay-at-home mom for 15 years. We had a good life together. Then, suddenly, on Dec 4, 2011, I was widowed, and my life had to be re-defined. I have let God guide my life since then, and I am blessed with more "true-blue" friends than I can count.
Never having been out of the country, God opened up opportunities for me to see some of His world. In 2015 I went to Israel - guided by an Israel expert from my church, along with her friend, Hillel Geva, the Director of the Israel Exploration Society. He holds a Ph.D. from The Hebrew University in Jerusalem, he has excavated the Jewish Quarter in Jerusalem with the late Nahman Avigad, and he edits and publishes Jewish Quarter Excavations in the Old City of Jerusalem. The reports from those excavations, having produced five volumes so far. For 2 weeks, we went to excavation sites and other places where most cannot go - and he documented all of them. What an amazing trip that was!
After that, someone new to my church Led a mission trip to Poland that was also amazing! Never did I think I would ever "see the world". Traveling to other countries became exciting.
After college, I learned to ski in Lake Geneva Wisconsin. When I met my husband, he had never skied - but one trip to Masanutten VA hooked him. As a family, ski vacations were our favorite - while the boys were growing up. I hadn't skied in 12 years when I decided to start again 7 years ago - now I'm Membership Chairman of the Clearwater/St. Petersburg Ski & Sports Club here in Florida. (S...Expand for more

Next season's trip will be in Steamboat Springs Colorado. But we did a Dude Ranch trip last March & this March - w/60 of our members, in Florida - and did a Scalloping Trip last August in Weeki Wachi - repeating again August 2022, and many also did a Bioluminescence Kayak trip last season - near the Space Coast. A Bike & Boat in Croatia may just be the highlight of my 2023. Looking forward to that one! I LOVE to travel - and hope to visit some of you in states I've never seen - New England? - or countries I've never been to - UK? Sweden?
