Linda's Story
I have three great kids, the oldest (26) just got married, and the youngest is 16...soon I will have an empty nest. I work for the state, at the Virginia Retirement System; it is a great job. I volunteer at the Veterans Hospital and really enjoy that.
The best and worst things in my life happened at the same time-I divorced, but it got me back in church. My kids have all attended Catholic schools. They were born at home with a midwife and I am committed to the model of midwifery care through the Birth Matters organization. ers all settled on the west coast, so that is hard. My Mom died when she was only 50 years old. I love the outdoors--rocks, birds (I have an awesome birds nest collection,) collecting sea glass, and vacationing at Topsail Island. I tell my kids if one of them strikes it rich and buys me a house on the beach I will take care of their kids whenever they want!l I have an amazing group of girlfriends that I am so grateful for--we met through the home birth organization when our kids were little and have stayed close...they have sustained me through the hard times. I remember lots of nice people from my days at Bayside and would look forward to a reunion.
