Linda's Story
People change and some more than others, you may remember my exit in 9th grade but the story does not end with what we are as teenagers. If I would have had a caption under my 9th grade picture it would have read "Most likely to fail". But God had other plans, and boy am I glad he did! I often wonder about all of you and how God has laid out your life along the way. I finally did go back and get my GED, then started Nursing school in Bloomington Illinois where I graduated in 1980 as an LVN/LPN. By this time I had 2 beautiful children, Christy and Ian and had met the love of my Life Joel Oyer. We moved to Texas in 1983 where Joel began his business and I worked as a LVN in ICU while pursuing my RN degree. As the years progressed I longed to return to school and pursue a degree in Business and later an MBA. The steps God led me through, was a journey I will never forget. y would certainly peg as "Most likely to fail", I love the fact that our story is not written by society but by the merciful hand of God who sees inside the soul and grants us the privilege to serve. We now have 7 beautiful grandchildren ages ranging from 16 to 1 year. They are extremely intelligent, have a strong christian home where God in the center of everything. A healthy home that provides them with a sense of self- worth and well being, one that was so foreign to me. I am sure not one of you knew the struggles I faced and I made sure you never found out. It is good to know that children today can be free to tell thier story and get help from social services and other agencies within our communities so that they can have a chance at a normal childhood. No matter what your beginnings are, or the struggles you face growing up, it does not define who you are, or how God may choose to use you. I am grateful and would not change my life because of where it has brought me. I hope to hear from you to know your story, to hear all that God has done in your life.
