Linda's Story

We are retired and no longer living in NM. We moved to Holly Hill, Fl. Right next to Daytona. We have hit the best place ever. Living 5 blks from the beach on an inlet. Plenty of things to do and warm ocean air. Love it.....I can't imagine ever leaving here. Dennis and I just celebrated our 7th anniversary. . Life is good. Dad suffered a mild heart attack after we left NM and passed in March of 2015. We ride bikes on the beach, go to incredible car shows, watch fireworks and free concerts on the beach, lots to do and see. February 21, 2014 Back in Los Alamos for the winter to help out mom and dad. We sold our home in Roswell and will be heading toward our retirement dreams in a couple of months. Warm air and prevailing beach breezes await. Dennis, my soulmate has written and published 2 books now. Both Sci-fi and available on Kindle. First one was titled The Ruby Chamber and the second one The Final Cube. Great family reading if you like sci-fi. We are really looking forward to our official retirement. May 2013 Well it is funny how life keeps changing. We just had our 2nd anniversary and we are so blessed to have found our perfect mates especially at this stage of our lives. New horizons are opening as my husband Dennis, has gone back to work full time. He is selling manufactured homes and if all goes as planned will be training to manage his own store and we will be relocating in about 5 months. Great pay, should allow us to pay off everything and build up the retirement account so the next time we try this it will be for good. Going back to Hawaii to visit and spend a week in paradise in July. My daughter and son in law are celebrating 10 years of marriage and wanted us to come along on their trip. My Son, who lives and works in Hawaii has not seen his sister in almost 15 years. He has already taken off the entire week and is extremely excited as are we. Dave has just moved into a new place in Kona. I am anxious to see it and meet all his new friends. Will be great to show my daughter and son in law around. My mom got all of us a condo for a week. Wyndham....wonderful places. Beautiful place to stay in a community almost on the beach I used to hang out at . It will be an incredible week with my husband and daughter and son. then, hopefully, we will have our house here sold and will be ready to begin looking for a place to call home at our new location. We will have a couple of months to find something. Oh change is good. Dec 2012 Almost Christmas here in the desert southwest. Been another amazing year. Went to the class reunion and renewed some old friendships. Everyone looked great. Wish more of my classmates could have been there.Got to tour the new high school. Sure different from when we graduated. Pretty amazing. Still have our home here in Roswell for sale. I think we will be heading to Florida when it sells. Ready for some warm weather and some ocean breezes. My son is still in Hawaii. Wish things would pick up and we could somehow even go for a visit. I miss him so much. Time flies, been over 2 years since I have been back on the mainland and said fairwell to Hawaii and my son. Being married to Dennis is pretty amazing. If I had to choose between him and Hawaii I would choose being his wife. OH wait, I did that already. Been to the east coast again this year. Nice trip. Got to visit with Dennis's boys and their families and my wonderful mother in law. Spent some time in Louisiana with my daughter, Cindy and her family and some time with my daughter Connie and her family. Thank God my mom and dad are still alive. Still living in Los Alamos. I have had the pleasure of spending an abundance of time with them this year. Mom and I finally mending fences. Dad is 88 now. Anyway I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and that the blessings for the new year are in abundance. If any of you are ever headed to Roswell, look us up. April 2012 Dennis and I are fixing to celebrate our first anniversary. Wow it has been quite a year. We have done extensive traveling. Been fast and wonderful. Looks as if our plans will change and we will probably not be moving back to the islands. Houses just are not selling and our options are rather limited until the market improves. If and when this home sells, ...Expand for more
we will have to decide what to do. Until then we are happy and healthy and who could ask for more?We will just wait and see. June 2011 We are trying to sell our home in Roswell so we can move back to the big Island of Hawaii and begin our retirment. I miss the islands so much. Wish the market would pick up so we could pack up and leave. It will be nice to see my son and my Hawaiian friends. Back to a place of calm and serenity. Back to paradise where our relationship began. So many fond memories........... Wow what a wonderful life. Since April when Dennis George and I were united in Marriage we have been so many neat places. We went back East and hit 17 states in 20 days. Went to the top of the Arch in St. Louis, toured the Rock-n-roll hall of fame inCleveland, saw Dennis's hole in one plaque in Akron at the firestone Country Club, went to Niagara Falls then on to Connecticut to spend his mother's 80th birthday with her. Then we went to visit 2 of his boys in Pennsylvania and their wonderful families. We then went to Atlantic City for 3 days and toured New York City.Top of the Empire State building, new york cheesecake, the subway! We had a breathtaking view from the 26th floor of the condo in Atlantic City about a block from the boardwalk.Drove back through Kentucky, virginia, the Pocono's and I am sure I forgot something. We were home 1 day when the fire threatened Los Alamos and mom and dad came to stay a week. Now it is June and we are heading to Denver tomorrow. We are going to the mile high nationals at Vandermere Speedway. March 2011 Just one month left. We are going to Las Vegas the end of April and have decided to be married there in the LIttle White Chapel. April 29th. I am beginning to get anxious and a bit excited. Hard to believe I owe so much to classmates for bringing us back in touch. Dennis is such a dream come true, the answer to all my prayers. He is everything I hoped to find and some. Anyone want a house in Roswell? We still have plans to relocate when this house sells. WE are going bACK TO PARADISE. September 2010 A new chapter unfolding. I will be moving to Roswell to be with Dennis until we permanently move back here to Hawaii. Love is definately better at this age. So much appreciation, trust, so little of the negativity of youth. I am excited that my future, my reality is finally better than my dreams. Thanks, Dennis. Dennis George and I owe a gratitude to Classmates for our reunion and for the happiness we have found since reconnecting with Classmates. We have plans for a beautiful future together. A lifetime of hopes and dreams became reality at the moment we both realized there was a special bond between us and that the lifelong friendship we held so dear had blossomed and become a love so strong that it shall bend with the winds of change and stand strong in the sun's light. Grow with the tears of joy or sorrow and become a guiding light in the storms of tribulation. Only to become sweeter and more fullfilling as time passes. Lots of Updates. I reconnected to a lifetime friend thanks to classmates. We have become more than friends and are looking forward to a life together. You never know what the hands of time have in store. Love is better at our age. We don't have the impetuous nature of youth and we have an appreciation for true devotion, honesty, compassion, sincerity, and committment. God knew what he was doing when he made us wait. 8/18/2010 I am going to be leaving on a jet plane .....headed for Hawaii...6/4/2010 May the 4th I will be relocating to the big island of Hawaii.I am excited and can't wait to be in the warm tradewinds and walking on the beaches. I lived in Louisiana for 20 years, then in Washington for a year and a half. I have 3 children(grown) and 9 grandchildren. My youngest daughter lives here, oldest lives in texas. my Son lives in Hawaii. I love motorcycles although I do not own one. I still keep in touch with my best friend from High Scool. I would love to reconnect with classmates. I never seem to make the reunions. I find out afterward that there has been one. Let me hear from some of you. I am unfortunately still seeking my soulmate. I have about given up on the idea that love really exists for me. Maybe someday...........
