In high school since I came from such a poor family, I had very little and so was an outcast. From what our children told me as they were growing up, things haven't changed much. But, having grown up that way, I vowed to never let that happen to our children - fortunately, my husband and I both had very good careers so they were well provided for. I do remember most all the kids I went to high school with - my memory is a great asset. I do often think about some of those people I knew in high school and wonder how they are or what they are doing. But, I doubt most of them remember me, which is why I don't attend class reunions. After graduation, I moved to San Diego and learned what it was like to be one of the popular kids - I often think that was when my life really began. I attended SDSU and became an RN, then when I left nursing and moved back to Grand Rapids, I went to GRJC for my Business Degree in Accounting.
