Linda's Story
Hi, After graduation I went to Bakersfield College,where I spent two years living in the dorm. It was life changing for me because for the first time I got to be a real teenager. I didn't date in high school, so this was all new to me. My life changed again the first week of June 1963 at the Air Force Academy when I met my husband to be. He was in my brother Mike's wedding and so was I. he caught the garter and I caught the bouquet. Six months later we were married and I became a military wife. We were stationed in Texas, Calif., South Dakota, Edwards, Utah, Ohio, and the last base was Minot, North Dakota. Along the way we had three children. When Keith retired from the Air Force our only job requirement was to be someplace warm!! Keith went to work at Texas Instruments here in the Dallas area. I worked a total of 21 years for Jo Ann fabric's. Our children and four grandchildren all live close by. My brother Bob and my sister Debbie are about thirty minutes awa...Expand for more
y. My brother Mike lives in Fairbanks, Alaska. My father [MR. FERGUSON] has been gone several years now. He lived the last 4 1/2 years of his life with us. What a blessing it was! For the people from Desert High that had my Dad in school I have put pictures of him at different stages of his life in my photo album. Since he was known for his real corny jokes, here is one that I found in a newspaper clipping he had saved from 1975. Did you hear of the beautiful young girl who married an elderly gent with 85 million and got "Get Will" cards from her friends?
Just a update. Keith and I will celebrate our 49th anniversary come Nov, 9th. Keith is now retired and our life is simple. We do some traveling. This year we spent 17 days in Hawaii. Loved it. We both go to the gym five days a week. We are trying both to stay fit and fit into our clothes. We will become great grandparents the 2nd of Feb of 2013. That doesn't seem possible, but at 70 years old I guess it is.
