Linda's Story
Life
Just thought I'd update my bio. In March of 72 I married Ron Kinslow who graduated from Kennedy in 1969 and we've been happily married now for over 35 years. We have three great kids. Our oldest daughter is a teacher with Apple Valley Unified and is teaching 3rd grade, this is her fifth year at Rancho Verde Elementary School. My son is in the Army, stationed in Sierra Vista AZ and is happily married and has given me two beautiful grandkids. My grandson is 11 and my granddaughter is 9, and the joy of our lives. Ron was in the Marine Corps when we got married and we spent 20 great years in the military. We were stationed in CA, AZ, CA again, and then in NC, and then back to CA, not really exciting but it was fun. I loved being a military wife. We loved it back in NC and had planned on retiring back there but God had other plans for us. We owned a beautiful home in NC and after Ron retired we were going to go back there but instead we adopted a mixed race baby in Orange County and because she is part black and where we owned our home there would have been too many prejudices to subject her to, we sold our home and retired in Apple Valley. Our "baby" graduated in June of this year. She's currently teaching gymnastics and going to modeling school. She wants to pursue a car...Expand for more
eer in modeling and acting. She's beautiful and very talented and has a great future ahead of her. Next week she is adutioning for in Internation Talent and Modeling Agency in hopes of getting an agent. Who knows where that will go. She's excited and we're excited for her. She still lives at home with us and will for a while, I'm not ready for the "empty nest" syndrome just yet. Since things didn't work out for with my oldest daughters wedding plans she still lives at home, by my choice. We own a 7 bedroom home and my husband is a truck driver, gone 3-4 weeks at a time so I love having both my girls at home. Keeps me company. Four years ago my youngest daughter and I were in a serious car accident and due to my injuries I am unable to work, so I love having them around. My husband and I bought the home my parents built in Apple Valley when we took over the unwed home for pregnant teenage and young women, whick we ran from 1995 until 2005. We closed down that ministry because our youngest daughter needed us to be there for her during her final two yeara in high school. We knew it was the right thing to do, and I don't regret it at all. I didn't make the 30th reunion but had been looking forward to our 35th but guess that's not happening. Hope this finds all of you doing well.
