Linda's Story
Life
My Life BIO how silly... I'm still living my Life :-))
In a "Nut shell"
After High School I worked in various places in Canada and Alaska in the road construction field. I got tired of always moving & having to apply for the same job every year so I went from a $37.00 per hour job to a $7.25 job... Can you believe it I was happier at the lower wage... for a few years that is then I went to the college and took the Business & Admin. program.
After the college program finished I went back to road construction to pay off some bills then I started working in the hotel industry... 3-4 years doing the night audit.. I MUST have been crazy. Too bad I had to sign a waiver... no juicy stories can be shared :-(( I do remember the first person I had to kick out of the hotel... fun, fun, fun... NOT! It was the numerous robberies and the 5lb security guard they provided that made me nervous so I decided my life was more important than guarding money and hotel guests... again I wish I could share stories...
My next career move was working for the Federal Government for just over 10 yr's now. I worked a short time for Forest Resources and then took a year off and moved to the Peace River area for 8 months... I moved back to the Yukon in Dec. 1997 and started working for Parks Canada in April 1998. I worked in the Finance Dept. for 8 y...Expand for more
rs and for the past 6 months Ive been working on a temp. assignment - Image Data Base for the Yukon Field Unit.
I also have a side line business in Photography & Graphics Design. I have been taking photographs for over 25 yr's now and I've finally started promoting myself and doing more photo shoots for people. One of the strangest ones was a college professor who wanted some nudes done... at the college... I dont know.. I just take the photos :-)) I enjoy being creative with my camera and I would like to work FULL time on my photography and graphics design but I'm not pushy enough to break into the market. Word of mouth has done lots for my business; I've NEVER had a unhappy customer. OK, OK enough smoke up my butt now :-) No smoke was involved with the college prof. photo shoot :-)
In June 2005 I went to Phoenix Arizona & Pisac, Peru to photograph a Aboriginal culture exchange. I was very honoured to be asked to photograph this journey. Drop me a line or two and I'll share some of the stories from this CRAZY trip. Chewing coca leaves, smoking foot long cigarettes, STRANGE food, I could go on and on but Ive already babbled enough in this Nut shell summary.
Well there is more to say but not enough time or space so drop me a line or two and we can connect again. Take care and I hope you and your loved ones are doing well.
