Linda's Story
We were a close nit clan back then! I and David Rogers tied with votes for senior school president so we shared the term! Jeff Rushing was my heart throb my senior year. Shortly after graduation we lost Barbara Blaze, she was born at the same time I was in the same labor and delivery room as my mom was in. Barbara and I went to the same school 11 of 12 years. We lost handsome Steve Brunson, and vivacious Pam Atwood. I would love updates on any 1971 class members. As for me I moved to Hawaii as a teenager and have been in the islands since. I did move back to Savannah in the late 70's for a few years but the tradewinds called me back to Hawaii! However I travel frequently to Savannah to visit my elderly parents on Wilmington Island. In Hawaii I managed the Honolulu Branch of Kelley Services. I took an early severance package from them after my first born, in 1985. I married Michael Lorne, a Nucleur Health Physicist. We have 3 children, Michelle, 26 a behavior health specialist, Michael, 25, lives in Califor...Expand for more
nia, and Marin, the baby who is getting married in November. She earned a rodeo scholorship to college where she met her fiance. Casey Sadler, he was drafted by the Pittsburg Pirates, pitching in their minors on track to the majors! We tease him that he can "Sadler" horses for her. My husband is an all around waterman, winning contest almost every weekend. He is also a tri-athlete. As for me, I still ride horses, race barrels, and recently took up mounted shooting. Together as a couple we have camped in all 50 states with kids in tow. Now that they are grown and gone we have enjoyed 6-7 week adventures in New Zealand, Canada, Australia, Africa, India, and Peru. After the November nupitals we will plan our next trip to the Holy Land! I do pray this finds all my classmates well and happy and loving life.... until, Aloha, Linda McIver-Lorne
Rolling up those hidious uniform skirts and belting them at the waist with a 3' wide belt, only to have Mrs. Akins pull them down below my knees upon entry at the school door.
