Cass Tech Class of 1966....
I went on to Highland Park Community College and then to Michigan State for my B.A. in Elementary Education.
While teaching in Detroit Public Schools, I received my Masters of Education degree from Wayne State University.
After 15 years in DPS, I transferred to the Walled Lake School District and have been here for 21 years. I went to Wayne State again for a second Masters in Library and Information Science. I have been the Media Specialist and Computer Resource Teacher for 11 years now.
I have recently published a children's book and am working on a second one. Both books are children's poetry based on artists' works. 4 books for teachers titled Reading Buddies Bloom. I have loved every minute of my educational experience throughout the years.
My personal life: Married for a long time and now single.
I have 38 year old twin sons, Scott and Steven who are physicians, and a 25 year old daughter, Kate, who is a nurse. I have 7 grandchildren.
I have traveled six times to Ayacucho, Peru on a medical mission. While there, I worked with an orphanage, taught English to the regional hospital staff, and was a "gopher" for the doctors at the hospital. It was most rewarding to me.
Leisure time includes sports activities, reading, art and music, and writing. I enjoy nature activities as well.
I am on the committee to save our old high school: we fondly call it "Historic Cass Tech," as a brand new high school has been built right next door.
