My Pets
I have a black cocker spaniel named Jake. He was preceeded by Koko, another black cocker, who we had for 12 years and who we lost 2 years ago. Jake is a great little companion and is very much a lap dog. He is losing his eyesight at 4 years old due to a condition called progressive retinal atrophy. However, he gets along just fine as long as I don't move furniture or something stupid like that. My daughter and her husband also has a dog, Maggie. She is a german shepard-mix and a really sweetie. She and Jake enjoy playing together and sharing treats.
My Kids
I have a daughter, Lisa, who just recently was married in November, 2001. She married a wonderful guy she knew from high school although they never dated. She put herself through college (with help from her mom) while working a full-time job as an assistant to a probate judge here in Houston, Judge Jim Scanlan. orking with a probate/estate planning firm. When she married in November, it was Judge Scanlan who performed the service. I'm very proud of her and what she has accomplished. She is the type of daughter any parent would be happy to have. Next step, grandchildren.
My Job
It's a job, for goodness sakes. I have been with my present employer for the past 6 1/2 years and work with 3 attorneys. We just finished up a big trial for a British airline company and I'm trying to put everything back in order. My job is always learning and using that knowledge in other areas of my life. I've done the same type of work for the past 30 years and have worked with some wonderful individuals who have taken the time to teach me about the law and help me to reach my present level of expertise. I work in a large law firm in Houston, Texas with offices in Dallas, Austin, and New Orleans. We are adding an additional floor to our present offices in the next month or so due to our expanding staff.
