Linda Moore's Story
Life
My Spouse
Spouse #1, Cabot "Cass" Casinger went to Jones, also (Class of '64). My friend Winkie Witte had a class with him - by the way, she is the one who gave him the nickname of "Cass". I planned to take a class in summer school and needed a ride home. She saw him in line to register for summer school also, and since we lived on the same street, she asked him to give me a ride. Since he didn't really have any other choice, he agreed. We were married in 8/1966, had our son 11/1967 and were together until about 1983.
Spouse #2 (current), Andy Box - I was invited to go on a blind date with him - to Hawaii, so I did! Hey, I'm no dummy! Our next date was New Year's Eve in Vegas, so I decided I should hang on to him. We got married in 1985 and are still living happily ever after . . . .
My Pets
When I was in high school, we had a terrier/chihuahua mix named "Goober" that some of you might remember. When Cab & I were married, and Jeff was little, we had a Schnauzer named "Max".
When Andy & I got married, we got a Sheltie named "Chancey". When she died, we splurged and got a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, "Charlie" who was the most wonderful dog in the world. He died in the fall of 2000 and we were heart broken. We finally broke down and bought another Cavalier, but this one is a mess! "Chip" is quite a character - he's a year old now and LOVES other people and dogs. He can't wait to get outside so he can run visit all...Expand for more
the neighbors and their dogs. When we lose him, he is usually in someone's house or has gone for a walk with them. He is very cuddly, but if we leave him in the house alone, he shows us how lonesome he was by tearing things up, so he is banned to the garage and workshop when we leave! We are really hoping that he will still "grow up a little" - or maybe we're just too old for him!! We're hangin' in there!!
My Kids
My son, Jeffrey Casinger, 34, graduated from Conroe High School and A&M. He and his wife Heather live in Houston "inside the loop" with my adorable granddaughter, Kendall Grace, who is almost 2. He has been working in the telecommunications field since college and helped start a new company in Houston about a year ago, called Trilliant. They do the engineering for communication systems for businesses, schools, etc. and he is in the marketing end of the business.
Andy has 4 grown children and 5 grandchildren. Fortunately, I have always had a very good relationship with his children, who were already grown when we got married. It has been so much fun being a grandmother and we are very close. They like to come visit and bring their friends with them to "hang out at the lake", since we live right on the water on Lake Conroe. Two of the grandsons are at A&M right now and back in Oct. we had 10 Aggies here one day to watch the game on "Papaw's Pay-Per-View"!! But we love having them and we're glad they want to come!
