Linda's Story
After graduation I went to Seattle Pacific College with an Education major. I continued to run with the Falcons and was able to travel with the team to other states and Canada. I married the man of my dreams and we had our first daughter. Then we moved to Arkansas where we had our second daughter and all thoughts of running for fun went away. We were transferred to several locations around the country so we spent time adjusting in and moving out. As the years passed and the girls grew I went to nursing school and became an LPN. Once we arrived in Kentucky I became an EMT and began to study Hazardous Materials response in relation to the health department. A move to New Hampshire and I became a fire fighter and HazMat Specialist. Now I know someone out there is saying I was back in the guy stuff. I have been fortunate to work with many fine organizations and gentlemen who have encouraged me to take my interests into the workplace. Becoming a Corporate Safety Manager gave me the chance to pull all the training together, including the nursing. From there I formed my own company --Health, Environmental, Response and Safety, LLC better known as HERS. One stop shopping for a company or individual looking for ...Expand for more
customized compliance with all regulations. My husband is retired and catching up with activities he missed during the years he worked. Our oldest daughter has hiked all the major trails Applician, Pacific Coast and Continental Divide and continues to enjoy married life close to nature. The youngest stays on the run with the grandsons and they make Grammee a very happy person. For the most part I am in good health, just older, heavier and slower than I was. I do sincerely hope anyone reading this will know I am wishing you good health, lots of laughter and love. Please stay safe.
Here we are beginning 2016 and now at 68, I am adjusting to all sorts of new experiences. A lifestyle in NJ for 15 years I spent much of the time driving the highways for work and then for opportunities to take pictures with a variety of cameras. Eagle and birds of prey were the focus of my attention and though found mostly in the winter, I managed to travel to a variety of location for photo opportunities.
This last year has been spent in Louisville, Ky with family. Big change in lifestyle in most every way. Life is an adjustment and a huge adventure. Each day is a new opportunity to learn and be grateful for our blessings.
