Linda's Story
Life
My Spouse
In October 1967, I was one of the
installing officers for the Order of
Rainbow for Girls. One of my good
friends, Nancy Hammonds was being
installed as Worthy Advisor, the top
office. She had arranged a blind date
for her fiancee's room-mate, David
Reaves, with Linda Bradford, another
girl in the order. Linda wanted to go
find her old boyfiend and asked me to go
out with David instead of her. I didn't
have a date that night so I said OK.
Two weeks and 2 days later, David asked
me to marry him and a month later, on
Thanksgiving day, I said "yes". We were married for 34 and a half years until David died on June 6, 2003.
My Pets
I have 2 female Dalmations, named Dottie
and Pepper. Pepper weighs about 90-100
pounds and thinks she is a lap dog! :)
They both slept with David and me in our

ng size bed until he died. Yes, it did get
crowded! But I didn't need an electric
blanket in the winter, they kept me warm. Now they both sleep on the floor at the foot of the bed.
My Kids
Our daughter is a beautiful young woman.
She was born on Jan. 15, 1979 so she is
almost 26 years old. She is still
living at home and working for a day care center at a local church. She is getting married to a wonderful man on March 12, 2005. She has a son,
named Grayson David who is the joy of
our lives. He is now 4 years old.
My Job
I am a high school mathematics teacher.
I am currently teaching Algebra II
and Algebra I. My school, Longview
High School, has about 2300 students. I am retired at the end of the 2003 school year, but I returned to teaching first part time at Kilgore College and then back to full time at LHS.
