Linda's Story
After graduation that October I married my sweetheart Wayne Myers. You might remember him in Football. Maybe not. But, by the next January of 1966 Wayne was in the Marines and off to basic training in California. After he left I found out I was pregnant. Due in September. The Marines shipped him home for 60 days to be with me for the birth. But, no I was stuborn. :00 AM and Shane was born at 8:59 that night. What a pisser!! The following March of 1967 Wayne was killed. Needless to say the two never touched hands. I went on the next 25 years raising that boy all on my own. And to brag, he has turned out to be a fine young man. Now 40 and married with 2 kids of his own. Yeph!! I am a grandma. At 38 and lonley I adopted a baby who is now 16 and keeps me young, active and alert. Still working hard but own my own home. A car that is paid for and the fridge is full.
