Linda's Story
I am the former Linda Riddle, now Linda Motschiedler; married to Carl, who is a corporate attorney. I've lived in California since 1980 and LOVE all 300 of the sunny days we enjoy here! (Classmates still living in Toledo know what I mean!) It never rains here in the summer -I am NOT kidding!
I am a retired art gallery owner; with a passion now for tennis and also a wonderful French game called, Petanque' (Pay-tonk)! I play doubles tennis 3-4 days a week with "the girls". Carl and I usually play Petanque' on the weekends and have fun traveling all over California to the many club tournaments throughout the year. Go to: Fresnopetanque.com or Petanque America.com to find out more about this delightful sport (like Italian Bocce, but more fun!) that's me in the "Fight Song" movie directing, with my Golden Retriever, Pepper!
Our entire family also LOVES to ski and we've been all over the world enjoying that sport with our kids; and now, our grandchildren! - We have 4 boys and also 2 Grandchildren....with more grandkids coming, we HOPE!
My ski days are winding down in favor of "beach days" in Hawaii; but I'm teaching the Grandkids to ski; so that's my new speed!
I just got rid of my Lexus SUV on for my 60th birthday got a 2008 Min...Expand for more
i Cooper made just for me in England! This thing has power, baby! Zoom, Zoom, Zoom -thus, my license plate, "Go Grammy!"
As I'm President of our local Sister Cities program, we get to travel yearly to Europe. We have Sister City relationships in Italy, Germany, Russia, France and Mexico. We've hosted many wonderful people, who've become dear friends and been hosted in their homes in return. It's a great way to become a traveler, rather than a tourist!
Our sons were involved while in high school and college. The student exchange program is highly beneficial to the maturation process and self-confidence of our young people and I highly recommend the experience.
We have discovered a new French game, called Petanque (Pay-tonk). It's like Italian Bocce'. It's the fastest growing game in the U.S. because anyone can play it equally: men, women, boys & girls because of the aspect of luck involved! Also, it takes very little athletic skill or equipment! Go to: petanque-america on the web and check out the blog section for more info! There's a picture of us that I've included in "My Photos" here from the Southwest Regionals. Carl and I were finalists!
...Isn't retirement Fun?!!!
