Linda's Story
Life
I was married 13 years and am now divorced and have been for over 10 years. I have 3 grown daughters and 5 living grandkids (2 boys and 3 girls)and 1 deceased granddaughter named Harley Ann Marie Phelps;ranging in ages from 14 years old to 18 months.
I love to sew, ride harleys, and raise my pitbulls. I have owned a couple of motorcycles in my time but i am without one at the momment. I hope to build a trike with the help of my harley brothers,(if they can put down the beer and women) HAHA!!! Not all of them are like that. we really do alot of good in the community. I ride in the Run for the Homeless; Toys for tots, Adopt a Pet run and many more every year.
I still run my Leather to Lace sewing business on the side, I custom make Leather wear for Bikers, But I really love doing work with deer skin. i love to make Indian Dream catchers, medicine pouches just to name a few, but I also make Exotic dancers costomers also. But I can sew for the regular people also.
I have Cherokee indian in me so my house is done in indian style. my living room has everything from a medicine man rattle to indian baby basket, coycote skulls, proclein indian dolls and to top it off I have indian blankets cut into curtains on my windows. i did my dining room into cowboys so not to leave out my my other blood line.
I have two dogs left at home I did have 4 . Pete is my three legged pitbull(god rest his Soul); kelsie my stafford shire terrier pitbull with a 9 page petagee(some pit bull fighting ring came through our neighborhood and stole her) so now I have her & pete's pup DOWG which means dog in indian. up in outfits and play tea party with them, never has a one turned. i raise pups and will only sell them to people that want them as pets and will not fight them. and the best of all is my half chow & half coycote she Duchness my watch dog and protector. She is the alpha female. she won the old roy dog food contest this summer. i have a cat and she rules the dogs.
At the age of 40 I went back to college and got my degree as an dministrative Assistant;work full time at Carondelet manor, but just to make sure i can make ends meet I also sell avon, do my sewing business.
For fun i love to ride harley's and enojy going out with my friends laughing, dancing and having fun but we always make sure everyone ets home safely. But i only go out one night a week so times every two weeks.
I'm remodeling my house. that takes alot of time. When I find the time so when you come to my home you'll see cans of paint,carpet, wood and plumbing supplies around Excuse the mess we are under construction
Workplace
i started out out McDonald's,then housewife and mother to; owning my own craft business in Adrian mo called the Gifted Unicorn, then H&R Block teaching a tax course; to running Larry's bar on wilson rd for years; to owning a full/part time business called Leather to Lace, custom sewing and designing and is still going to this day; to college to get a degree in Administrative Business and became the Administrative Assistant to the Administrator, Director of Finance, Human Resourses, and the business office at Carondelet Manor. now I am the assistant to the Director of the business office. I handle patients accounts, verify their MCR, MCD, Insurance, and take care of their finances in house. I am the computer buff at work.
