Linda Roper:

CLASS OF 1963
Grand prairie, TX

Linda's Story

I have one child, my son, Bart. He's 42 years old and married with one child, Lauren is 7 and the light of my life. Bart taught 6-8th grade science at GPISD for several years. He will be teaching in Birdville ISD beginning 2012 term. I went back to college at DBU in the 90's and finished approx. 72 hours of the credits needed for a BS. Had to quit because of my health. I've been divorced for 24 years. Purchased a garden home in the Westchester area of GP in August 2010 after the death of my mom in November 2009. I retired from Lockheed Martin/Loral/LTV/Vought in 2001 as a Senior Schedule Analyst on the Space Station program. I quit smoking in 2007 (cold turkey--I never realized how ba...Expand for more
d the odor was until I quit). Of course, the hand to mouth issue from smoking hasn't left--just substituted food/snacks for cigs. Of course, that's led to weight gain. Am working on a walking regiment that will lead to lost pounds and inches. My hair is salt and pepper, leaning more to salt. Took a trip to Disneyworld November 2010 with my granddaughter, son and daughter-in-law. It was crowded and much different than my first visit with my son in 1977 at XMAS. I stay in touch with good friends from the class of 1963, Cherie Partain and Marie Richardson. I enjoy doing genealogy research, reading, and working on the yard. Looking forward to our "50" year reunion -- can you believe it!
