Linda's Story
Life
Being from Groton, I like other girls my age at the time vowed NOT to marry a sailor from the sub base. Well, I had a summer job on the base and low and behold I met a Marine stationed at the then Marine Barracks. That was in 1972.
I left Groton for a year and returned homesick on Mother's Day 1973. I was married to that Marine on June 16, 1973. We have six children, ten grands and have been married for the whole time, and last but not least I do still LOVE HIM VERY MUCH.

ladelphia with five of the kids and all the grandchildren. One of our sons live in Colorado and is in the Army, with his three GIRLS, all the boys live here.
The moral of this story is, I can testify to LOVE AT FIRST SITE. As a matter of fact, our children do emulate us. My second son, the one in the Army, did the same thing he was married in five months, and my baby son just got married to his sweetheart in less than three months time.
I wish them health happiness and as many years of marriage as I have had.
