Linda's Story
Life
Married in 1973 and have been married to the same person for the past 36 years. Moved to Southern California for 4 years while husband was in military, moved back to Michigan for 11 years and had 2 children (1 boy 1 girl. Getting our fill of Michigan weather we then moved to a sleepy almost non-existent town about 60 miles north of Tampa Florida (Weeki Wachee/Spring Hill area) where we have resided for the past 20 years. I work alongside my husband who is an E.R. nurse in a busy Emergency Room of a local hospital and have worked in various Cardiologists offices throughout the area as an office manager. Our 2 children (long since grown)bought a house together and currently live the grand distance of 7 houses away from us. My daughter is currently attending yet another bank account draining institution of higher learning to obtain her certification in Echocardiography having already been certified as a cardiac cath technician. Of the two of our kids our daughter has turned out to be the "Evil Knievel" of the family participating in what my husband and I call "Rapid parent aging" activities. his one), bungee jumps off of 400ft. towers and competitively race anything with 4 wheels, 2 wheels, (or parents choice, no wheels) To round out her feminine attributes she is a proficient marksman with a 9mm rifle, .380 handgun or anything else that falls into her hands. She received her state certification for firearms and has her concealed weapons permit (effectively removing 50% of parental anxiety when she goes out alone). Our son though not as scholastically inclined has found his niche in life as a driver for Budweiser (talk about job security !) and thankfully participates in less parental blood pressure raising activities such as deep sea fishing (Gulf of Mexico is 2 miles away) and playing goalie (ice and roller) for the Hernando County Sheriffs team. Having policemen for team members seems to of been an effective deterrent for any possible wrongdoing throughout the years. Of our other household members we are the owners of 4 cats with all of them coming from a homless shelter. They somehow live in peaceful harmony with our dog Zander who is an oversized, gentle, non-aggressive Doberman who with one bite should he so desire have one of the cats for a hors-d'oeuvre. Thankfully he has never displayed an affinity for cat hors-d'ouerve's although anything else on the menu is fair game. That in a nutshell has been my life for the past 38 years
