Linda's Story
After graduation in 1965, I attended West Liberty for just one semester. I then attended Mountain State Business College and graduated in 1967. I worked both in Bellaire and St. Clairsville until June of 1969 then I moved to Wichita, Kansas where my dad got a job so we all moved there. I once again worked in loan companies and then met the man was to be my husband. Larry and I were married in May of 71. We have been married ever since. He worked as an engineer for Skelly, then it sold to Getty and then Texaco. I was pretty much a stay at home mom. We never moved, only changed employeers at the same refinery. He retired in 1997. In Nov. of 1972 we had our first son Brian who (between his wife and himself) have 7 children. They live about 1 block from us so I have watched the grandchildren grow up by keeping them while their parents work. In 1974, Steven as born. He lives in Olathe, Kansas and is also an engineer. He is still single. Larry and I love to travel. We have been to Australia, Europe, Israel and in between. We also like to take big family trips like to Hawaii and cruises. We enjoy NASCAR (Jimmy Johnson). Larry's brother was VP of Lowe's who sponsors Jimmy Johnson. In a couple of weeks, we are going to Larry's 50th Class Reunion in Shawnee Mission, Kansas.

9) is going into the army. He is our oldest step-grandson, Dayton, (18) another step is a senior in high school. He plans to also go into the army after graduation. Britnee (16) is a junior and is involved in track and cross country and is also a straight A student. She plans to be a Veterinarian. Shelbe (13) is in 8th grade. She is also smart but at this time she just wants to marry a rich guy. Meghan, (9) is in 4th and also in the gifted program. She is our only red head. Derek (6) is in First grade and is all boy. So far so good. Chase (almost 3) is our Drama Queen. She is adorable and she is the only one I have full time during the day while the others are in school. Can you tell that I am proud of my sons and grandchildren? This summer, we took, Brit, Shel, Meghan and Derek to Branson for a few days. We all had a fantastic time. My mother (86) still lives in Wichita. She was recently diagnosed with emphysema so had to give up some of her activites like playing golf and some of her volunteer work and most of all her traveling. She does still play bridge, bingo, many Church things, and doing luncheons. We moved Larry's mother (93) from Spokane to here a few years ago and she is in Assisted Living here.
