Linda's Story
Began my career as an artist after graduation by working at Hinshaw's Dept Store advertising dept where I quickly became their head fashion illustrator for 7 years. Received my AA degree from Pasadena City College in 1975 and moved with my hubby Gene (who survived the TET offensive at Phu Bai, VietNam war) to Northern California outside of Cottonwood, CA below Redding where we literally lived off the land hunting and gardening for 7 years. Had two beautiful kids Sam now 30 (highest level ski instructor at Jackson Hole, WY after dropping out of engineering school to follow his passion), and Dawn 29 (BS in psychology and an incredible belly dancer). Hubby and I are retired now and play a lot of pickleball and ride motorcycles as well as ski. We have a home in Phoenix, Oregon where we've lived since 1988. ling and animation for games (worked for Trilobyte, subsidiary of Virgin games, lead artist and 3d asset management for interactive game Tender Loving Care). I've owned my own multimedia business, and own Sturgeon Advertising where you can see my portfolio of work. I am presently retired. My last work was creating the web site for the Harvard School of Medicine Genome Project. I also went back to school and got my BS degree in Computer Science in '07 from Southern Oregon University. I co developed the Sarbanes-Oxeley code tracking and audit report system for the e-com department of Harry and David Corporation (the large gift fruit corp). I continue to play music as keyboardist with my band La Rouge (the red) playing parties and the county fair. I love playing chess online, and gardening, work out at the gym and do yoga once a week. No grandkids yet. Life is good and we are grateful that we're doing good.
