Life
Hey everyone from Somerville Land. I was a former Somerville Players and Sunsetter performer. I hated and loved my life in Somerville but i would never-EVER take back one minute of time growing up there. I am a stronger yet sensitive person because of my experiences with my family, friends, school, and most of all performing.
I think anyone who grew up in Somerville has something special -with a street wize sensitivity but cambridgey smarts. Once the subway came to town though, a lot changed, some for the good and some, well, sadely some for the bad. I miss the jewler watch maker in Davis Square, or the the old Hodgkins spa store (may be still there though). I bet it doesn't have grande moca with skim there. Just neighborhood family selling regular stuff. I miss that sometimes.
I'm living in the countnry now next to my sister Lisa in Amherst. You may know her, she is another sunsetter who had the best smile (even with braces). My mom, Peggy and I decided to move out here and love it....really feels like i made it home. You see, there are wild Turkeys as big as an adolescent child (which can be quit big), Moose, bear, but then there is Startbucks 15 mi...Expand for more
nutes away with students typing on their laptops finishing homework. You know, it is kinda like living in Somerville again, with the Cambridge students not so far away. No wonder it feels like home.
Some of you who know my mother, Peggy Melanson(Thompson) she moved out west too and she flourished in Holyoke. She put her writing into live storytelling shows, giving workshops on "The courage to create" and started her own website Thecouragetocreate.com - take a peek she is remarkable and live her dream life, I must say as a good daughter. After building an amazing Network of friends She died of cancer 2017.
So, I'm working to continue her storytelling and enjoying playing with improv out here in Western Mass. I work with with various people right now and always learning a lot. Still finding my place in the world and loving where i am at.
Practicing my peace, love and forgiveness attitude with our crazy and insane government that was finally starting to find it way again in the world. I think we have to...I mean.. I have to learn how to make some changes to help this crazy world out ...not sure what but I do know, I have to start with myself --- I certainly can't do it alone.
