Linda's Story
Within a year of graduation, I married an Airman stationed there at Lakenheath, and had my first daughter 9 months later. After spending nearly 2 years stateside, and giving birth to my 2nd and last daughter, we went back to England, this time to RAF Bentwaters. After only 3 years of a 4 year tour, my first marriage ended in divorce. I relocated to Colorado, in the Denver area, in 1990, and found my home. I met my current (2nd & last) husband in '92, and we moved in together a year later. Although I did not go to college, I did complete courses at Mansfield Business School, receiving a certificate in Accounting, which I have directed into a career in Office Administratiion. My daughters graduated from high school, and my younger now has a Bachelors in History, and is working on her masters. My older daughter is also taking college classes, but is taking much longer to receive her degree while she raises her autistic son. My younger will be marrying in July, 2010. Currently out of work (unemployed for more than a year) I fill my time volunteering for service in my church.
