Linda's Story
Life
I had a successful career at State Farm for nearly 20 years, earning my CPCU in insurance education and becoming one of the first female claim superintendants, until I became the mother of a son I adopted at birth. There weren't enough hours in the day for motherhood, a career, and a family business, so I temporarily left my career behind. I eventually became a self-taught accountant and managed my ex-husband's CPA practice until we divorced in 2001, then I resumed my career. with State Farm in workforce management. I still live in Orange County. My hobbies are handwork, reading, photography, and home improvement projects.
A favorite line is in the final scene of "Stand By Me" --the storyteller writes, "I never had friends later in life like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?" I was 13 when I started High School, graduated at 17, and the friends I made then are friends for life. I was quiet and shy then, I have remained so to a degree. However, still water runs deep.
