Linda's Story
Life
I have been married to Larry for 33 years. I have one child, a son, who is learning disabled. Luke is 30 years old.
Prior to getting married I worked in the banking industry as an officer in a Savings Loan in Baltimore and worked cross country in New Mexico and then to Salt Lake City, Utah as an assistant branch manager of a Savings & Loan.
I have been a Floral Designer for 30 years. I owned my own shop in Montana.
We lived in Montana for 18 years and moved to Wichita, Kansas in 1997.
I am very active in the Handicapped Community as a Parent Advocate.
I sit on the Board of Directors at the Arc (Association for Retarded Citizens) of Sedgewick County. I also sit on the Board at the Sedgwick County Developmental Disability Organization.
I have two minature schnauzers, Chache & Fonzie the Happy Days Boys.
After my son moved out I felt childless so 2 little brothers filled the gap.
I spent 5 years work...Expand for more
ing at Home Depot.
I liked to do community service work for Home Depot. In 2003 I was able to bring Frank Bielic from Trading Spaces (TLC) to the Womens Fair in Wichita Kansas. It was a smash hit, the place was mobbed. I had a private interview with Frank. He was a delight. Home Depot was the star of the show.
I currently am retired from the retail world. Just couldn't hack it any more.
I was able to attend our 40th Class Reunion and it was GREAT. It was harder to recognize the men than the women. Thank goodness for the pictures and names we wore to jog our memories.
It was amusing to see some people never change and others really had positive attitude changes. I guess age does that to some people.
I can hardly believe we are so old, it only seems like a few years ago we were so young.
I would be happy to hear from any classmates...it is suprising what we remember about each other from so long ago....
