Linda's Story
After graduation, I decided to get Technical training and became a Crown and Bridge Technician (1970). I was very actively involved at the Church at the Crossroads (Catstro Valley). I married in 1971 then moved wiht my new husband to Pensacola, Florida. I absolutely loved Florida, with it's white beaches, unfortunately I could not say the same held true for the man in my life. I headed for home which was now Union City for me. I worked at General Motors for a number of years till their closing in the 1980's. I bought a double-wide Mobile home in the Tropics Mobile Home Park. I really liked it there.
Like many others I have gone through several career changes. I took past experiences together and worked for the City of Newark for a period of time as Central ...Expand for more
Services Operator -I oversaw the operation of all the copiers in the city, and ran a mainframe copier, producing all the manuals needed city wide, and ordered all the city's office supplies. Then I left and ran a Copying Center in Office Max.(I was the trainer for Supervisors and personnel state-wide that worked in their Business Centers.)
I still maintain friendshipswith several gals from Marina. Janeen Carol-Haimes Machado, Virginia Robbins Kruger, and Beverly Hayduk. Gosh Bev and I have been friends since we were six and 5 years old. It's great having long termed friendships.
Currently I am taking computer courses and living with my Mom. She's still vital just I did not like her living on her own. That gives you a brief idea about what I have been doing.
