Linda's Story
Life
After High School I went to Central in Ellensburg and got a degree in Psychology.I went back for 2 years of grad work. In 1972 I married Dan Papke a grad of Curtis HS 1967. In 1993 we unfortunately divorced. We have two amazing identical twin daughters who are 35(no way!)now. They both graduated from WSU and were outstanding athletes in high school and went to college on athletic scholarships.I've been very proud of them of course. My career path led me into business, something I never would have guessed based on how timid I used to feel. I did a variety of Sales, Marketing, Management and Operations. I spent 14 years as a real estate agent in Southwest King and Pierce Counties. My daughters own a booming espresso business (288th and Military Rd-Federal Way). 10 years ago I started an espresso catering business with portable equipment. . Then 6 years ago due to some health problems, I turned over the physical part of working the events to my daughters and I did the marketing and event planning. In February 2007 I turned it all over to them and got may Real Estate license back--bad time for the market to do loop-de-loops. I was working in the Pierce and King county areas out of the Windermere Puyallup Canyon Road office on 112th but wasn't able to stay at it when things became so difficult. I'm currently at Burlington Coat Factory in Lakewood as an area manager. Quite a challenge. Certainly was easier at 30. Will I stay? Who knows, life seems to have so many twists and turns. I'd love to reconnect with past classmates again. There are many of you that I would like to talk to. I was really glad that I went to the last reunion. It was great and if you missed it you should go to the next one it was the very first one I had ever gone to so I was a bit nervous but it was great to see some folks I really wanted to talk to. Very interesting!
