Linda's Story
Life
I was in the class of 74. I am happily married since 1978. I have two boys ages 28 and 22. The oldest is a High School Teacher and Baseball Coach. My youngest has an Associates degree in Culinary and is a Chef. My husband had graduated from Roosevelt H.S. in 1972. My family and I are very sports minded. Both my husband and I had been Little League Umpires for years. Yes, quiet old me became the person people didn't want to mess with. (Imagine that!!!). Both of us had been chosen to umpire in one of the State games several years ago. My husband even went as far as umpiring in the Senior Little League World Series when they were held here in Kissimmee, Florida. We love to play golf and bowl as well as spend quality time together. We have been living in Florida since 1986 and just love it here. My husband and I live in a town called Kissimmee/St. Cloud which is about 30 minutes outside Orlando.
My life has changed quite a bit in the past 4 months. My husband passed away unexpectedly in his sleep. I'm still trying to get through the tragedy but it is very difficult. Thank goodness for family and friends. Having a huge support system really helps but it doesn't make the pain go away. We would have been married for 31 years in May. He was my life and my best friend and will be forever in my heart. I have 2 strong boys that are always there for me. Please stay as close to your familie...Expand for more
s. Life is too short and for those of you who have children whether they are young or old, please stand by them and support them in any way you possibly can no matter how difficult or rebelyouse they can be. Staying so involved as a family has kept me sane and I know I can move on. It will just take some time. I will try and post some new photos in the near future. Just need to find some decent ones.
Workplace
I have worked in an office all my life as a Secretary and Office Manager. I currently am employed by Sea World and actually work at the Discovery Cove Park for Guest Services. I have the pleasure of working outdoors on a sandy beach. It's a nice change. No stress and no taking work home. Just a few changes with my job. I still work for Discovery Cove and still have the pleasure of walking through the park on the white sandy beaches. I am now working back in the office on "Special Occasions" for Discovery Cove and love every minute of it. I usually work 4 ten hour days and this gives me 3 days to get things done and spend some time with my boys. My boys and I, even though they live in their own place, bowl together on Sunday's and my plans are to get my life back together and start golfing again. No, I'm not very good at it but I can hit the ball straight, just not very far. I did, however, play in a scramble game and my t-shot was actually used ahead of the guys. What a miracle!!!
