Linda's Story

Life I live in Piqua with my husband of 38 years Phillip and our youngest daughter Lisa-Marie. Phil and I enjoy going on cruises each year. This year we went to Ocho Rio, Jamaica. Lisa-Marie is an assistant warehouse manager at P&R. She will be transfering to Urbana College in the fall of 2008. I will graduate with my second associate degree in June of 2008. Jennifer, my older daughter has three sons. David my oldest son has two sons. My grandsons are Jesse 9, CJ 8, Calib 7, Michael 6, and Christian 5. Christian, whom I nicknamed Pain in the Butt is the reason I went back to school and into the medical field. He was born Clinically dead and thanks to Children's hospital he is alive and healthy today. School I graduated from 1969 from Franklin Monroe. I never had a crush on any of my classmates. I was dating and engaged to my now husband of 38 years Phil Mong from Greenville. I did not really enjoy my years at Franklin Monroe. I was always looking forward to the weekends and summers when I would live with my Grandmother. This is where my happy memories of high school come from. College I have three different degrees from college. My first degree was from Edison State in 1978 right after we moved to Piqua. This was an Associate of Arts Degree in Business. Then I received my Bachlors in Management from the University of Phoenix. I decided to go back to school in the fall of 2006 and will receive my Associate Deg...Expand for more
ree in Medical Administration in June of 2008 from Edison. I have made the Dean's List every semester for all three degrees. Workplace I have had three great jobs. My first job I was talking to an Accountant and he asked me to go to work for him. So I did for fifteen years. I kept feeling I needed to do more for people so I left and went to work for home health and hospice. After working in the health field and watching so many hospice patients die I felt I could do more for people in a different field. So just before 9-11 I went to work for ITS which was the security department at the Dayton International Airport. ITS was taken over by the government after 9-11. I am still employed by them today. Right now though I am off due to a work injury. I just had my second surgery and am waiting to see if I will be needing a third surgery because the injury is not imporving. I have made a lot of friends there and am so glad for the security even though it is sometimes time consuming and people get angry I think we are safer flying due to the way the world is today. Military I have never been in the military but I have very high respect for each and everyone of the people who are serving. My youngest daughters boyfriend was in the Marines and served in Iraq and Afghanastan. He was a sniper and we are lucky he is still alive today. He was shot twice but lucky for all of us he had a bullet proof vest on and it save his life.
