Linda's Story

Life It is hard to sit and write what you are. After high school, I went on to Business Training College, now Point Park College in Pittsburgh. I worked for the U. Of Pgh, Research Division. Got married (1961) Worked for Jefferson Medical Associates. In 1963, had a baby boy (now married with 2 boys of his own). Moved to Cal., worked at Kaiser Hospital in Fontana, for one year, then came home and worked for Banbury Mfg, then did not work for a year. In 1966 we moved to West Point, PA, and I started work Secrephone about 4 months after I had a second baby boy (also married with 2 boys and 1 girl). I worked at home doing transcription of medical records. During this time I wrote and had published a mystery/romance novel (Life without Rhyme) and worked for them until 1993 when both sons got married...Expand for more
and we sold the house and moved to Florida where I got a job with Mayo Clinic in 1994. In 2004 I retired from Mayo and have stayed retired. I have had a few medical problems such as broken leg, broken foot, breast cancer, blood clots, etc. and do very little walking or traveling now. My mother whom many of you know, died 3 years ago (April 2004) at 97 years old. I am married to Bill Gacy, 84, and we still manage to enjoy each other's company. It is now 2017 November and update includes my husband having a stroke in January 2015 from which he is still recovering very slowly. Travel is out of our reach, so anyone who wants to see us has to come here. Hope all of you people are having a little better luck than we are, but we are still fighting (for life and such) - not each other)>
