Linda's Story
Life
Attended San Juan HS in Citrus Heights, CA from 1960 to Jan. 63. Moved to Ft. Rucker and graduated from Carroll HS in '64. Came back to Auburn, California immediately following graduation, and met my husband, Darrel, my sophomore year in Sierra College. Received my "Mrs." degree a year later in '67.
After 4 years of marriage, we accepted the Lord in '72, and I look forward to reuniting with my parents, Richard and Patricia Jones, in eternity. We have 4 daughters, 6 grandchildren (2 sets of twins) and many foster children -- one who just graduated from high school in June/08, has moved out leaving us empty nesters for the first time in 41 years. I've tried a career in the Corporate world several times, but found my heart was with the kids, so kept coming back "home." We had an early "retirement" due to Darrel's health, and moved to Jamestown, CA, in Feb. '04, where our retirement has turned into part-time jobs for both of us.

me "old" friends, and even making better friends out of the acquaintances I had at Carroll High. I greatly enjoyed the reunion in '84 and look forward to our 45th in October 2009.
School
As an Army brat, started kindergarten in Germany in '51, moved to Salt Lake City (Ft. Douglas); Whittier, CA (Ada. S. Nelson); Ft. Benning, GA; Dothan, AL; Daleville, AL (Daleville Middle); Citrus Heights, CA (San Juan HS); Ft. Rucker, AL (Carroll HS); and college at Sierra College, Rocklin, CA.
College
For me, college became a mixture of socializing and lots of studying. For the first year, I was very lonely, having just moved into the state and knowing no one. I had plans for the future as a social worker. The 2nd year at Sierra, I blossomed socially, met my future husband, Darrel Romani, and we've now been married 42 years. I did not become a social worker, but instead have used my love and concern for children as a foster parent with the support and help of Darrel for over 30 years.
