Linda's Story
I have been married almost 49 years to Nick Echols (Class of 68) who at the time we hot married was in the Marine Corp. After the wedding I moved to the Maval Air Base in Cherry Point NC. Where Nick was stationed. In April 1972, we had a son. In June 1073 when Nick Was discharged we mOved back to Ga and bought our first house in Suwaneeback to GA June 1972 I worked for Safeco Ins Co for several years and then had my daughter in April 1976. he Univ of North FL for 4 years until we were transferred back to GA in 1985. We bought a house in Duluth, where we still live. I went back to school and went into programming. In 1989. I started suffering from Lupus and Psoriatic Arthritis. It affected my spine and weight bearing joints. After years of suffering with severe pain and deterioration I had to go on permanent disability in 2002. My health has deteriorated over the years and I don’t get around so well so I am pretty much a homebody. I have four grandchildren ages 20, 19, 7 and 10.
