Linda Parra's Story
Life
I married Ralph Goble my high school sweetheart in 1964. We actually became engaged on graduation day, June 14, 1963. We had two children, we lived right there in Garden Grove until 1972 when we moved to Boulder Colorado where we became Electrical Contractors. We have since sold our business to a national concern and are pretty much retired.
We live on 6 acres amoung the pines, aspens and where the deer and antelope roam. Our home is in the mountains northwest of Ft Collins Colorado, just before you cross the border into Wyoming. it is peacful and serene and we feel very fortunate to be here.
Our two children gave us five beautiful granddaughters ages 21, 19, 14,11 and 8. Our daughter and her husband live with the three oldest girls just north of Denver. Our son his wife and the two youngest are living in Fairplay Colorado a community high in the mountains, elevation 10,500. They are truely Mountain Folk!
Ralph and I get to California several times per year, as all our extended family are still there. We keep annual passes to Disneyland, the Happiest Place on Earth, so I d...Expand for more
o make trips by myself and mangae to be in the park at least 15 to 20 days a year.
I haven't made it to a reunion since the 30th, but I am not about to miss the 50th in 2013.
Ralph and I will celebrate our 48th wedding anniversary in June 2012. We travel a lot in our motor home, and have taken up square dancing. We can't believe how many new and wonderful friends we have made all over the country since we began dancing. It keeps us in shape too.
The January of 2005 were able to make a substanial donation to the tsunami relief efforts. Our Congresswoman got wind of it and sent a letter to President Bush. We were invited to the White House for a reception, and invited to sit with Mrs Bush in the Gallery of the House of Reprsentatives to watch President Bush give his State of the Union addresss. It was the most remarkable experience of my life.
Sure hope to hear from some of you classmates, I do remember most of you. Feels like the older I get the more important old friendships and memories become. Keep in touch!
