Linda's Story

After college I taught high school English for one year (that was enough of that!) then went back and got a master's degree in English. I taught freshman composition at Southwest Missouri State, Lincoln University in Jefferson City, and Southwest Baptist College in Bolivar. My husband and a guy I went to college with got together and started a computer software company in the early 1980s, which they later sold. I worked for the company for a while; it was crazy in the beginning. In 1997 I started as a proofreader at the local newspaper and eventually became the...Expand for more
ir news reporter covering city and county government, crime and the courts. I enjoyed having an impact on local affairs; people said they trusted me to tell their story fairly. I left that job in 2008, and since then I have been editor in charge of the monthly newspaper of the Missouri Fox Trotting Horse Breed Association, working from home. Writing and editing seems to be my talent. I like to travel; I read constantly, mostly history and biography; I also enjoy sewing and needlework. I try gardening every so often, but the dogs either dig it up or roll in it.
