Linda's Story
Life
My hubby and I have been married for 43 years! We have 2 wonderful grandsons, ages 14 and 18, who are all just as interested in my Tennessee spotted walking horse, and my Alpacas as I am. (Actually the 18 yr old is more into girls and sports now). I had a gray Arabian Mare that I dearly loved, a childhood dream that didn't come to reality until I turned 50 She died unexpected May 2010 from colic in Ohio State vet hospital. I bought a gelding spotted tennessee walking horse summer of 2010, and he is proving to be a good horse. I bought a horse totally different from my Arabian as I knew no other horse could compare to her. ! My husband puts up with all of my hobbies, including supporting me at Alpaca shows and working with the alpaca fiber, as well as shoveling poo. I adore the alpacas, they are very special animals. We sell the fiber which I wash, dye, blend, spin into yarn, blend with my angora bun...Expand for more
ny's fur, weave rugs, a little loom knitting. We spend a lot of time at the boys' sporting events as they play everything. I retired April 2008 and am loving it. I began my career as a School Psychologist and then moved up into a Special Education Administrator position. I enjoyed working with special education children, their parents and my teachers. I especially enjoyed the autistic children. I Hated the Federal laws & school financing that tied my hands. I have also taught part-time at the University level for 15 years. Now I can focus on the alpacas and the grand kids. The joys of my life are my husband, children, grandsons, horse, herd of Alpacas, two dogs and 2 cats, oh 2 rabbits, the Kentucky Derby and frequent trips to New Orleans, the most fun place in the world! (and warmer than Ohio in February). We've been truly blessed, and try to help others through our membership in a Lutheran Church.
