Linda's Story
Hi classmates and old friends:
I live in Old Towne Orange now and have for many years. I worked for nonprofit organizations as director of operations and a therapist. The last few years I went into mortgage banking but lately have been able to just enjoy working on my 100-year-old home.
I was born in Detroit, Michigan and lived there until 6th grade. After moving to California, I visited Dearborn and eventually Howell, Mich several times a year until I was 18. As an adult I have visited family there occasionally. Great memories come from my summers growing up.
In California, some of you remember Smedley Jr. High(now named Carr), as being a brand new school. Glad I don't go there now, but back then it was the perfect junior high.
We did go to high school with a lot of really nice people, memories I will always cherish. Lots of social time and laughs, but studying for the grades too.
I married twice, divorced...Expand for more
once and widowed once. I have one son and three beautiful grandsons and a lovely daughter-in-law who live in Sandy, Utah. It's a nice trip and I go as often as I can.
I directed my career toward helping people. I started in outpatient alcohol services and thru the years also worked with seniors, Disabled American Veterans and Consumer Credit Counselors to help people with money trouble.
I'm retired now and enjoy that. My home in Orange keeps me busy with maintenance and gardening. I did get active with the Occupy movement to protest the income inequality. I continue efforts to bring awareness to issues of the day - getting money out of politics, fracking, GMO labeling, etc. Anyone interested - I admin the Occupy Orange page on Facebook.
