Lisa's Story

I hope my old friend remember me as being loyal and supportive. I always wanted to be a stewardess when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a crazy idea. As it turns out, they were right. I like to blow off steam by working out, it helps me release my anger safely! I don't think there is only one wildest moment I ever had in school, but then I don't think getting suspended for fighting or skipping to go to the beach were considered wild, maybe I'm wrong.. My hero is my oldest son Christopher, which I call Chrissy.. Chrissy suffers from severe ADHD & OCD, when he was 5 years old the so called experts told me that he would never have more than a 5th grade education, I refused to believe this. Now he is a senior at Pine Forest and only needs 2 credits for a full academic scholarship, and he has always taken Honors classes, he is also a proud member or FCA (fellowship of Christian Athletes). I never listened to the so called experts, I have always listened to my heart when it comes to my children. And for this he is my hero!! I was born and raised in Pensacola, and have never left except for College, I love it here and have loved raising my family here. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Danny Fike, because he had a brilliant football career and this is what my sons would like.. I love watching sports especially when my husband and sons participate. I also have 3 dogs that I love very much, Pugzley who is l5 years old, Gizmo, 6 years, and the baby Tazz, 1 year old. I think the biggest surprise in my life, is how truly happy I have been, except for the death of my Beloved Daddy 2 years ago, I have been very happy for the most part. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel the entire house and add on a master suite. My dream home would be about 5,000 sq. ft. so no one's stepping on one another. The most important thing I have learned from my son's is unconditional love!! Mr. Nelson, he was a trip! If I won $100 million, I'd give some o...Expand for more
f it to my family, then spend the rest on my children, my husband and myself. To be truly happy I wouldn't change a thing except slow down time. My current age is 47. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be dead. I was so completely wrong, since 40 is the new 30. I have always strove for perfection in my work habits, and demanded only my very best. I don't know what happened to my first love, the last time I saw him was about 26 years ago, before I met my husband, but I have often wondered what became of him. My best friend would tell you I'm crazy, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as outgoing. Still dress like you did 10 (or 20) years ago? I think so, I still have the big hair and I prefer 1980 and 90 styles. The weirdest job I ever had was when I painted cars for my brother Mac's Paint and Body Shop. I share my home with my family and pets, which I find very comforting. I won a body building competition in 1991 and I was a calendar girl for a Auto Tools Company. If I had one do-over, I wouldn't have waited until I was 30 to have my first child and I would have had more children. In 10 years, I hope to be alive. I'm going to get there by prayer and clean living. Lesa Powell is and always will be my oldest and dearest friend. We me when she was 5 and I was 6, at Bellview Ball Park we were cheerleaders, we also share the same birthday, September 05, and our friendship has weathered time and space, I love her like my sister, in fact I have always considered her my sister at heart. I think people who knew me from school would be surprised by my confidence and strength, these are things I did not have in school. My first job was at Plastic Letters and Signs, where I got paid minimum wage to make signs and trophies . What I remember most about it is nothing good.. When my parents gave me a 1970 Mack 1 Mustang for my 16th birthday, I loved that car, it was red with black racing stripes, my Dad and Brother rebuilt it for me.
