Lisa's Story

Life After graduating from Quaker Valley HS, I went to Carnegie-Mellon University and got a bachelor of Science in electrical engineering. When I graduated from CMU in 1985, I moved to central Massachusetts where I got a job as an automotive integrated circuit design engineer for Sprague Electric (now Allegro microsystems.) I worked full time there designing automotive 'chips' for automakers. I met my husband Andy there (also a circuit designer) and we got married in 1989. I had my first son, Adam in 1992. He is almost 16 now. I had my second son Ryan in 1994. He is 13. I started working part time when I had my children until 2000. Then I quit my job and decided to focus on my family. My sons are great. Adam is a big thinker and a natural engineer. He is quiet and kind. He is a boyscout and has the rank of Life scout. One more rank until eagle (I hope he follows through!) Ryan is a crazy daredevil and a natural athlete. He has a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and is also on a premiere soccer league. Besides being athletic, he is an incredible communicator. Andy left his engineering job and now works from home. He is a musician at heart and still has a band that plays rock and roll every week...sometimes out and sometimes just at home. The boys keep us both busy with their activities. We have a yellow lab named Abby. She is fantastic. She is 8 years old now and the best dog anyone could ask for...even though we got her at the mall! We have a really large yard and she can run as much as she wants although since her knee surgery she doesn't run as much as she used to. I have begun to work again very part time. I am doing some accounting work for a restaurant in my area. I have already accomplished a lot in my life. I have a wonderful family, a large home and a great circle of friends. We like to travel and have visited several islands in the Carribbean as well as Mexico and Puerto Rico. We are planning an extensive visit to the National Parks in the West this summer 2008. I have a lot to be thankful for and try to do my part to give back in charitable ways. I'd love to hear from any of my old friends! Email me! Lisa
