Lisa's Story
I hope my true and closest friends remember the silly, creative, spontaneous, and imperfect me. I was immature and naive in high school and I have grown so much in the past 20 years. I have earned a bachelors degree, learned how to get along with another person in a 12 year marriage, traveled the world, earned a post bach degree, gave birth to a beautiful and healthy 9 1/2 pound baby boy, survived a c-section, paid taxes, survived an audit by the IRS, survived the grief caused by the loss of two men in my life whom I loved dearly, survived moving 4 times in the past 10 years, conquered trig, pre-calc, and calculus, got accepted...Expand for more
as a grad student at the University of Michigan, opened a business, run a household and still make time to spend with my now 6 year old son. I have become a kinder, more compassionate and understanding person, a better listener, I see more shades of gray where I may have seen things in only black or white before, and I have definitely become more empathetic - especially to those I have unintentionally hurt in the past. I understand my place in this world, I know my strengths and weaknesses, and I strive to live the rest of my life making positive impacts on the world and in the lives of those with whom I come in to contact.
