Lisa's Story
Life
Left Nashville in 1986 for San Francisco, where I lived for 6 years. Transferred with my job to Denver for a change. Bought a house and got my college degree while there (at Univ of Denver). Moved to Los Angeles in 1998. Had a blast living there, worked at Paramount Pictures and did tons of fun volunteering. After 9/11, decided I wanted to be closer to Mom so we hatched a plan to live in the same town. My only prerequisite was that I wanted to stay close to the ocean. So, we moved to New Bern, North Carolina...a town my ancestors founded in 1710, just 45 minutes from the beach! I bought a huge historic house with 6 fireplaces, hung a porch swing and adopted a new Keeshond dog. But the big house and small town life wasn't for me. So, when a former boss from Denver emailed me that she was moving back to Denver, I jumped at the chance and am now back in Denver! ...Expand for more
Keeshond now gone but have Jake, an American Eskimo like my childhood dog.
School
Went to Tennessee Tech one quarter in 1979. Majored in frat parties (Sigma Chi). Then in Nashville, went to Nashville Tech for a short period. In San Francisco, took photography courses (best city for photography, by the way). In Denver, finally completed a business degree with an emphasis on mass communication. Would like to go back to school one day to take more photography courses, piano, history & literature.
Workplace
Krystal, Sunflower, Spats, Tavern on the Row, Asta, brokerage, a bunch of hotels, a railroad, legal, insurance, entertainment, cars, finance, you name it...I've done it...well, not quite "everything..." But loved the diversity. You'd be amazed at how different the world is with each industry! I am thankful for the diversity and look forward to more of the same...
